As part of this growth, we’re looking for an experienced Quality Engineer to join our growing Quality team and play an important role in maintaining and continually improving standards across the business.
This is a hybrid position, offering flexibility alongside regular site presence to work directly with our manufacturing and operational teams.
The Role
Reporting to the Quality Lead, you’ll support the development, maintenance and continuous improvement of Had-Fab’s Quality Management System (QMS).
This is a hands-on Quality Engineering role where you’ll work closely with Production, Operations, Engineering, Projects and Quality, identifying issues, investigating root causes and implementing practical improvements.
You’ll also support project quality requirements, audits, supplier quality and customer expectations as Had-Fab continues to expand.

What You’ll Be Doing
- Support and continually improve our QMS in line with ISO 9001.
- Develop quality procedures, work instructions and supporting documentation.
- Create and maintain Project Quality Plans and Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs).
- Support internal, external, customer and certification audits.
- Investigate NCRs, defects and customer quality concerns.
- Complete Root Cause Analysis and implement corrective and preventative actions.
- Monitor quality KPIs and identify trends and recurring issues.
- Carry out routine and targeted shop-floor inspections.
- Work with Production and Supervisors to reduce defects, waste and rework.
- Support supplier quality assessments and audits.
- Work across departments to resolve quality issues and improve processes.
- Support Quality Technicians and Inspectors where required.
- Liaise with customers, suppliers and external Quality representatives.
- Promote a strong culture of quality, ownership and continuous improvement.
What We’re Looking For
- Experience as a Quality Engineer or in a similar role within manufacturing, engineering or fabrication.
- Good working knowledge of ISO 9001 and Quality Management Systems.
- Experience managing NCRs and conducting Root Cause Analysis.
- Strong analytical and practical problem-solving skills.
- Experience implementing corrective and preventative actions.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications and quality requirements.
- Strong communication skills and confidence working with operational teams.
- A proactive, hands-on approach to quality improvement.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing or Continuous Improvement would be advantageous.
- Internal Auditor qualifications or auditing experience would be beneficial.
- Experience within steel fabrication, welding or structural steel would be particularly advantageous.
