About The Role

At Balfour Beatty, we're delivering some of the UK's most complex and critical infrastructure projects. We are seeking a Quality Engineer to support the successful delivery of HVAC and mechanical works, ensuring projects are delivered safely, compliantly, and right first time. Based within a highly regulated environment, this is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in driving quality standards on major projects.

As a Quality Engineer, you will oversee and maintain quality procedures and records in line with project requirements, supporting the Quality Manager to ensure compliance with regulatory and client requirements. You will be instrumental in promoting a culture of continuous improvement and quality excellence across the project lifecycle.

What you'll be doing

  • Implement and maintain quality systems in accordance with the Business Management System (BMS), including QA/QC procedures, document control and risk management.
  • Produce Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) and maintain project Quality Plans.
  • Manage quality records and ensure documentation is maintained accurately and efficiently.
  • Support delivery teams to achieve a "Right First Time" approach and client specification compliance.
  • Monitor and update quality schedules in line with project delivery programmes.
  • Support audits, inspections and certification activities, providing recommendations for continuous improvement.
  • Produce quality reports and performance metrics to support project and business objectives.
  • Assist with training, coaching and developing quality awareness across construction teams.
  • Utilise platforms including BIM360, SharePoint and Ffenics to support project delivery.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
