About The Role
Due to an increase in workload growth within the business, our client, a leading engineering manufacturing company based near York, is seeking to recruit a Quality Engineer to join their existing team on a permanent basis. This role offers an excellent opportunity for a skilled professional to contribute to maintaining and enhancing quality standards within a dynamic manufacturing environment. The successful candidate will work closely with customers, suppliers, and internal teams to investigate and resolve Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), ensuring that quality processes are consistently upheld. The position is based on day shifts, with an immediate start available, and offers a chance to be part of a company committed to continuous improvement and operational excellence.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of an HNC qualification in an engineering or quality discipline. They should have demonstrable experience working as a Quality Engineer within an engineering or manufacturing setting. A broad understanding of manufacturing processes such as fabrication, machining, and assembly is essential. Certification in ISO 9001 auditing is required, with lead auditor training being highly desirable. The candidate should demonstrate strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively across departments to achieve quality objectives.

Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain all system certification packs, ensuring compliance with industry standards and client requirements.
- Manage and update the company's calibration register, overseeing equipment calibration schedules and records.
- Collaborate with managers, engineers, and suppliers to develop and implement effective quality control measures and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensure workflows, processes, and products adhere to safety regulations and industry best practices, fostering a safe working environment.
- Investigate product or production issues, identify root causes, and recommend corrective and preventative actions to mitigate recurrence.
- Support customer audits and inspections, addressing any non-conformances or corrective actions identified during these assessments.
- Create, review, and maintain comprehensive quality documentation, including quality plans, inspection reports, non-conformance reports, and audit findings.
- Work closely with the Quality Manager on implementing continuous improvement projects aimed at enhancing product quality and operational efficiency.
- Perform all job tasks safely, following established working practices and health & safety guidelines to ensure a secure working environment for oneself and colleagues.
