Job Requirements

Responsibilities

  • Promote a proactive safety culture by identifying hazards and supporting resolution of safety concerns
  • Participate in site safety activities, including risk assessments, to ensure safe working practices
  • Maintain and improve QMS documentation to reflect changing requirements as needed (procedures, work instructions, PFMEAs, control plans)
  • Support compliance with IATF 16949 standards and Customer Specific Requirements (CSRs) to ensure continued adherence.
  • Conduct internal audits in line with the audit schedule from initial planning through to close out, guaranteeing robust business processes that meet industry standards
  • Lead and support structured problem-solving activities (8D, PPS, Kaizen, A3) delivering reports in a timely manner
  • Contribute to CAPA activities, ensuring effective root cause analysis and implementation of corrective actions
  • Monitor and analyse key quality metrics (e.g., PPM, customer complaints, cost of poor quality, yield loss) and drive improvements
  • Manage non-conforming material from containment and investigation through to final disposition
  • Lead and support development and maintenance of core quality tools (APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, Control Plans, SPC, MSA)
  • Support relevant APQP activities and ensure timely, compliant PPAP submissions
  • Work with suppliers to resolve quality issues and improve performance
  • Support customer audits, visits, and external assessments
  • Collaborate effectively with internal departments, customers, and suppliers

Qualifications / Experience

  • Experience working within a certified Quality Management System (IATF 16949 and/or ISO 9001) (required)
  • Experience in the automotive or similar manufacturing environment (3+ years preferred) (required)
  • Working knowledge of automotive core tools (APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, Control Plans, SPC, MSA) (required)
  • Experience of structured problem-solving (8D, PPS, Kaizen, A3) (required)
  • Audit experience (internal and/or external standards such as IATF 16949 / ISO 9001) (required)
  • Supplier and/or customer quality experience (required)
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings, standards, and specifications (required)
  • Strong IT skills (e.g., Microsoft Office; exposure to Minitab, SAP or similar systems beneficial) (required)
  • Degree, HND, or equivalent in an engineering discipline (Desirable)
  • Experience in the automotive or similar manufacturing environment (3+ years preferred) (Desirable)
  • Lean / Six Sigma training or experience (Desirable)
  • VDA knowledge (Desirable)
