Quality Engineer
We are a well-established precision CNC subcontract machining company, based in Waterlooville Hants, supplying high-quality components to customers across various industries, operating to AS9100 and ISO 9001 standards. We are looking for a Quality Engineer to join our small friendly team.
£37,500 per annum plus overtime, 40 hrs per week with an early Friday finish at 13:30.
Role
The Quality Engineer will be responsible for ensuring that all products and processes meet customer, regulatory, and AS9100 requirements. The role will focus on CMM programming, inspection activities, quality improvement initiatives, non-conformance management, and supporting the business in quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform First Article Inspection Reports (FAIR) in accordance with AS9102 requirements.
- Interpret engineering drawings and customer specifications.
- Produce inspection plans, quality documentation, and inspection reports.
- Investigate internal and external quality issues and lead root cause investigations using 8D.
- Program and operate Coordinate Measuring Machines.
- Develop and maintain CMM inspection programs for new and existing components.
- Raise and manage non-conformance reports (NCRs), concessions, and corrective actions.
- Support production teams in reducing scrap, rework, and quality escapes.
- Support customer and third-party audits.
- Monitor process capability, KPIs, and quality performance metrics.
- Assist with supplier quality activities and supplier performance improvement.
- Ensure compliance with customer requirements and all applicable regulatory standards.

- Proven experience in a Quality Engineer role.
- Experience in programming and operating CMM equipment is an advantage.
- Strong understanding of precision measurement and metrology techniques.
- Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings and geometric tolerancing (GD&T).
- Experience of AS9100 quality management systems.
- Experience in completing First Article Inspection (AS9102) and PPAP.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Competent user of Microsoft Office and quality reporting systems.
£37,500 per annum plus overtime
40 hrs per week - Mon - Thurs 07:30-16:30, Fri 07:30-13:30
