Quality Engineer
Location: Kettering, Northamptonshire
Salary: £40,000 - £50,000
Job Type: Permanent | Full-Time
Are you an experienced Quality Engineer looking to join a well-established manufacturing business? This is a hands-on role where you'll support production quality, drive continuous improvement and ensure products meet the highest standards.
The Role
Working closely with Production and Engineering, you will:
- Support quality activities from incoming inspection through to final product release.
- Inspect fabricated and welded components against engineering drawings and specifications.
- Raise and manage non-conformances, leading root cause analysis and corrective actions.
- Develop and maintain work instructions, inspection plans, and quality documentation.
- Monitor quality KPIs and support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Work with suppliers and internal teams to resolve quality issues.
- Supervise and develop a small team of Quality Inspectors.
- Support ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and internal/external audits.

About You
You'll have:
- Experience in a Quality Engineer or Senior Quality Technician role within manufacturing.
- Knowledge of fabrication, welding, and mechanical assembly.
- Experience reading engineering drawings and carrying out visual weld inspections.
- Strong understanding of ISO 9001 and quality management systems.
- Experience with root cause analysis and continuous improvement tools.
- Excellent communication skills and the confidence to challenge quality issues.

Desirable:
- CSWIP Visual Welding Inspector qualification (or equivalent).
- Internal Auditor qualification.
- Experience within heavy engineering, access equipment, lifting equipment, or similar industries.
