About the role
We are looking for a Quality Engineer to support the design and development of new technologies and products within our Medical business.
Working as part of a collaborative, project-based team, you will help ensure that quality is embedded throughout the design and development lifecycle. You will apply quality principles, tools and methodologies to support robust product and process development, regulatory compliance and effective design assurance.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced quality professional who enjoys working with a wide range of stakeholders and wants to contribute to the development of high-quality medical technologies and products.
What you’ll be doing
As our Quality Engineer, you will:
- Create, improve and implement design and development documentation, ensuring compliance with the relevant Quality Management System.
- Select and apply appropriate quality tools and methodologies during product and process development, including APQP, PPAP, FMEA, MSA and SPC.
- Support design assurance activities, including quality planning, verification and validation.
- Develop and implement inspection strategies to support process verification and validation.
- Select and apply appropriate problem-solving tools to identify root causes and implement effective corrective actions.
- Support change-management activities throughout the design and development lifecycle.
- Build effective relationships and engage with stakeholders at all levels of the organisation.
- Work collaboratively within virtual and cross-functional project teams.
- Collaborate with external suppliers to support training and change-management activities where appropriate.
What you’ll bring
You will have:
- A strong working knowledge of quality principles, systems, methods and tools.
- Experience of applying design controls in line with relevant international and regulatory standards.
- The ability to work effectively within a complex stakeholder environment and support successful project delivery.
- Strong problem-solving, collaboration and communication skills.
- An understanding of risk-management methodologies and their practical application.
Qualifications
Essential:
- A Quality Practitioner qualification at HND level or above, or an equivalent qualification.
Desirable:
- A bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification in science, engineering, quality or a related discipline.
- Experience of working with quality management systems across industry.
