Teledyne Energetics UK has been designing and developing solutions for the safety, arming, and initiation technology sector since 1984. This includes military energetic devices from components through to complete systems. Some of our flagship product lines include:

Originally part of the Teledyne e2v family, Teledyne Energetics also delivers a range of services to its global customer base. Design services include modelling and testing of fully packaged circuitry for control and initiation of detonators, carried out at our fully licensed site in Lincoln.

Quality Engineer Role
We have an excellent opportunity for a Quality Engineer to grow their career within engineering for energetic devices such as detonators, strip line cables, and safety arming units.
The Quality Engineer ensures that products, processes, and systems comply with stringent regulatory, customer, and industry standards throughout their entire lifecycle. The role focuses on risk management, root cause analysis, validation, and continuous improvement, closely collaborating with engineering, manufacturing, and regulatory stakeholders. Responsibilities include preventing defects, supporting audits, and maintaining robust documentation to ensure consistent quality and compliance.

Responsibilities
- Ensure all activities are conducted in accordance with company operating procedures
- Guarantee that customer-defined quality KPIs are met
- Lead, conduct, and document gage R&R, ANOVA MSA activities
- Provide guidance in developing procedures to accommodate a changing environment
- Support Operations in achieving continuity and improvement by identifying best practices and championing change, collaborating closely with Process Engineers
- Lead Quality Root Cause and Corrective actions using methodologies such as:
- 8D
- A3
- Support Fast Response Boards using tools like:
- Fishbone diagrams
- 3-legged 5 Why
- Manage the department’s MRB (Management Review Board) process and reporting of key issues, prioritising late MRB tickets
- Oversee non-conformities in the assigned area while supporting employees’ understanding of effective corrective actions
- Generate Right-First-Time data, publish results, and utilise insights to guide efforts
- Liaise with all areas of the business, suppliers, and customers to address product quality-related issues
- Conduct layered process audits and internal audits to ensure compliance with procedures, processes, and other requirements
- Attend business/product reviews to ensure comprehensive aspects are addressed to the satisfaction of the customer
- Establish effective internal and external working relationships
- Carry out verification processes based on customer standards
- Conduct risk mitigation and analysis (FMEA – PFMEA/DFMEA)
Requirements
Essential
- Willingness to undergo UK Government Developed Vetting (DV) security clearance
- Ability to read and understand written technical operating procedures and drawings
- High standard of formal education (preferably to HNC level or equivalent), enabling a technically credible dialogue with the engineering and production teams
- Quality Assurance experience within a precision manufacturing environment
- Knowledge of AS9100 quality requirements
- Time-served background in an engineering discipline
- Comprehensive understanding of problem-solving tools and techniques
- Full competency in the use of PCs (Microsoft Office Applications) for detailed technical report generation
- Excellent communication skills, a methodical approach, and proven attention to detail
- Ability to work effectively under pressure to meet and exceed demanding objectives

- Extensive knowledge of Energetics products and processes, along with an understanding of Teledyne Energetics’ Quality Management System
- Familiarity with auditing techniques (training available if required)
