Owen Daniels are currently recruiting for an experienced Supplier Quality Engineer to join a leading automotive business based in Coventry.
This is a great opportunity for a quality professional who enjoys working closely with suppliers, solving problems at source and making sure quality standards are consistently delivered. The role is very much hands on.
You’ll be working closely with the supplier base, engineering and internal teams to identify quality issues, drive corrective actions and support new product introduction from the early stages through to production.
You’ll have a key role in supplier performance and will be involved across APQP, PPAP, 8D, root cause analysis, 5 Why, PFMEA, Control Plans and supplier development.

The role will include supplier visits and audits, supporting new projects, investigating supplier quality issues and making sure corrective actions are properly implemented and sustained. We’re looking for someone with previous Supplier Quality Engineering experience, ideally within an automotive or similarly demanding manufacturing environment.
You’ll need strong experience in:
- APQP and PPAP
- 8D and structured problem solving
- 5 Why and root cause analysis
- PFMEA and Control Plans
- Supplier audits and supplier development
- Managing supplier corrective actions
- New product introduction
- Customer and internal quality requirements

You’ll also need to be confident dealing with suppliers, challenging when required and building strong working relationships. The ability to get to the detail, understand the technical problem and drive the supplier towards a robust solution is essential. This is a role for someone who likes being involved. You’ll have the opportunity to work across a varied supplier base, get involved with new projects and play a key part in improving supplier quality and performance.
