QA/QC Manager – Major Infrastructure Project | Heathrow
Location: Heathrow, London
Contract: Initial 12 months

We are currently seeking an experienced QA/QC Manager to join a major infrastructure project at Heathrow Airport.
This is a long-term contract opportunity for a quality professional with strong experience across MEP, life safety systems and major projects, who can take ownership of quality assurance, compliance, inspections and handover.
The Role
You will be responsible for implementing and managing the project Quality Management System, ensuring that works meet the required technical, contractual and regulatory standards.
You will work closely with the project delivery team, subcontractors, commissioning teams and key stakeholders to drive a Right First Time approach and ensure the project is delivered to the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain the project-specific Quality Management Plan in line with major project standards and ISO 9001.
- Establish and manage internal and supply-chain audit programmes.
- Monitor quality performance, identify trends and drive continuous improvement.
- Develop, review and oversee Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs) across MEPH systems.
- Carry out site inspections and quality walk-downs to ensure installations comply with approved drawings and specifications.
- Verify materials, certifications, FAT documentation and technical compliance.
- Manage project quality documentation and support stage-gate assurance processes.
- Liaise with client quality teams, independent testers and relevant authorities.
- Manage NCRs, defects, snagging and corrective actions through to close-out.
- Lead root-cause investigations and implement preventative measures.
- Support commissioning activities, including witnessing SATs for critical MEPH and life-safety systems.
- Ensure completed ITP and quality documentation is handed over correctly to the commissioning team.
- Support the technical handover and asset documentation process through to project completion.

- Proven experience as a QA/QC Manager or Senior QA/QC Engineer on major construction or infrastructure projects.
- Strong MEP / MEPH quality experience.
- Experience with life safety systems, ideally including fire alarm, BMS, lighting controls, smoke extraction and associated systems.
- Strong understanding of ITPs, NCRs, audits, inspections and quality management systems.
- Experience working on complex, high-value projects with multiple stakeholders.
- Knowledge of ISO 9001 and structured project assurance processes.
- Strong documentation, communication and stakeholder-management skills.
- Experience within aviation, transport, major infrastructure or other highly regulated environments would be highly advantageous.
- Heathrow or other major airport project experience is desirable.
