Role Description
The SHEQ Manager owns health and safety, environmental and quality performance across Technikraft's chemicals, blending and filling operations. The role keeps the site legally compliant and certified, protects people and the environment, and makes sure every batch that leaves Goole is right first time. This is a hands-on leadership role. The postholder is expected to be visible on the shop floor, drive a proactive safety culture, and use data to cut incidents, complaints, and cost of poor quality.

- Safety Management - Lead and continuously improve site health and safety systems, ensuring legal compliance, risk management, safe working practices and a strong safety culture across all operations.
- Environmental Management - Manage the site's environmental compliance and sustainability programmes, ensuring adherence to permits, regulations and ISO 14001 standards while reducing environmental impact.
- Quality Management - Own and develop the quality management system, driving product quality, process improvement, compliance and continuous improvement whilst maintaining ISO 9001 certification.
- Training and Culture - Promote a positive SHEQ culture by developing employee competence, delivering training and coaching teams to take ownership of safety, quality and environmental performance.
Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of Health & Safety and Occupational Health principles, with experience applying them in manufacturing or chemical processing environments.
- Demonstrated expertise in Environment Health and Safety (EHS) management, including compliance with relevant UK regulations and industry standards such as COSHH, DSEAR, hazardous substance storage and UK health, safety and environmental legislation.
- Proficiency in Accident Investigation, root cause analysis, and corrective/preventive action planning.
- Experience designing and delivering Training programs on QEHS topics for diverse teams.
- Relevant professional certifications (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH, or equivalent) and a degree or diploma in a related field such as Safety Management, Environmental Science, Engineering, or Chemistry.
- Strong analytical, reporting, and documentation skills, with attention to detail and familiarity with QEHS management systems and audits.
- Ability to influence and collaborate with cross-functional teams, promoting a proactive safety culture and continuous improvement mindset.
- Experience within chemical, industrial, or manufacturing sectors is highly beneficial.
- At least five years in a SHEQ, HSE or quality role in chemicals, lubricants, coatings or similar process manufacturing.
- Experience maintaining ISO certification and leading external audits.
- Working knowledge of CLP hazard classification and safety data sheets as they apply to site safety and storage.
