As a Twinings Supply Chain team, our mission is to create value through agility and great partnerships to ensure that we are catalysts for growth for the business and we continue to delight our consumers. The Quality & Food Safety Co-ordinator will play a role in maintaining end-to-end processes and systems in support of the Quality and Food Safety function, including driving systems strategy and continuous improvement. The role will be responsible for maintaining all quality related data, including providing relevant KPI measures and reports, as well as conducting 3rd party co-manufacturer audits.


Key Responsibilities

  • Gather and study quality related data and/or provide technical support to understand trends and issues to make decisions and provide input related to product safety and quality, including generating relevant KPI measures and reports.
  • Support and maintain documentation such as Quality Manual, as it pertains to product quality/food safety.
  • Conduct quality and food safety audits of 3rd party co-manufacturers’ facilities, including:
    • Performing supplier approval assessments, reviewing and recommending actions based on risk.
    • Writing audit reports and requesting corrective actions for ‘non-conformance findings’ as needed and following-up on corrective actions.
    • Scheduling and performing routine supplier facility audits (possible international travel) to assure food safety and quality and to verify material meets specification.
  • Complete internal audits on Food Safety processes as part of the Internal Audit Team to ensure that the company is audit-ready at all times.
  • Initiate and conduct mock product recalls and withdrawals across our markets to identify process/systems improvements.
  • Support in conducting scientific studies and compiling scientific reports and decision-making documents e.g. for new higher risk ingredients related to innovation projects.
  • Provide direct technical support where necessary during all third-party audits of our wholly owned sites.
  • Provide resource for material specifications, customer complaints, and/or quality incidents as needed.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

  • University degree in Food Technology/Food Science or related field.
  • 3+ years’ experience of food manufacturing or auditing experience.
  • Demonstrates technical knowledge of food processing systems.
  • Experience of food safety systems including HACCP, GMP and preventive controls theory and methodology.
  • Experience of food quality risks during manufacturing.
  • Experience in internal and external audit experience.
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to initiate and implement continuous process improvement.
  • Ability to think logically, problem solve and grasp concepts quickly.
  • Excellent communication skills, written and oral, for effective interaction with all internal and external contacts.
  • Self-motivated and have a positive attitude with the ability to work independently.
