Quality Improvement Manager - North

The Good Care Group are seeking a highly skilled Quality Improvement Manager - North to join the leadership team and oversee quality standards across Northern and Scottish operations. The position requires a dedicated professional to maintain and enhance quality assurance frameworks across person-centered care services.
In this role, the post holder will collaborate with executive leadership, including the Head of Quality, to execute group-wide quality strategy and ensure regulatory compliance across Care Quality Commission (CQC) and Care Inspectorate (CI) Scotland jurisdictions. Additional responsibilities include overseeing governance for Oxford Aunts and managing professional indemnity and liability claims.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic COO Partnership: Collaborate on an annual Quality framework to provide high-level data insights on Northern and Scottish performance.
- Regulatory Authority (CI & CQC): Act as an organisational expert in support to the Registered Manager for Care Inspectorate (CI) Scotland and CQC regulations in the North.
- Insurance & Claims: Support the head of Quality Assurance in their absence to manage the end-to-end process for professional indemnity and liability claims; analyse trends to reduce future risk.
- Audit and Field Leadership: Work in line with the quality framework to conduct regular audits and high-level spot checks across the Northern/Scottish patch when required. This includes field-based quality assurance work when required.
- Serious Incidents/MDT’s: Attend and support from a QA perspective with Serious incidents and MDT’s to advise and support with escalation where required.
- Focused Support: Provide focused support to the regional team when areas of improvement are identified.
- Policy Management: Co-own the master policy library, specifically leading on Scottish-specific legislative updates with the Registered Manager.
- Complaint Management: Support with management of stage 1 complaints where required.
- Investigations: Form part of the investigation rota alongside operational and client services assigned roles.
- On-call: Participate in the care manager on-call rota.

Candidates must demonstrate governance expertise, analytical capability, and a commitment to maintaining quality care standards:
- Education: Educated to degree level or equivalent professional standing.
- Sector Background: Experience in the health and/or social care sector in a quality assurance and compliance role.
- Senior Leadership Experience: Experience in a management role with experience of analysing and presenting data to different audiences and making recommendations for improvements.
- Regulatory Knowledge: In-depth expertise in CQC regulations and Care Inspectorate (CI) Scotland frameworks.
- Desirable Qualifications: Relevant formal qualifications in Quality Assurance or Health and Social Care.
