Quality Inspector

Location: Commutable From Livingston, Edinburgh, Fife, Falkirk & Surrounding Areas

Salary: Circa £40,000 - £41,000, rising to £46,000 - £48,000 after 3 months

Shift Pattern: 3-Shift Rotation (Moving to 4 on, 4 off Continental Shifts after training)

Join a Global Engineering Manufacturer

We're looking for an experienced Quality Inspector to join a leading manufacturing business in Livingston. This is a permanent opportunity offering excellent earning potential, long-term job security, and genuine career progression.

You'll complete an initial three-month training period on a Monday to Friday rotating shift pattern before moving onto a 4 on, 4 off continental shift, increasing your salary to circa £46,000 - £48,000 per annum.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Inspect forged and machined components to ensure they meet quality standards.
  • Carry out dimensional inspections using precision measuring equipment.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Identify defects and support quality improvements across production.
  • Complete inspection documentation accurately.
  • Maintain high standards of health, safety, and housekeeping.
  • Work closely with production teams to ensure quality and on-time delivery.

What We're Looking For

  • Time-served Engineer or HNC (or equivalent) in Engineering.
  • Previous inspection experience within a manufacturing or engineering environment.
  • Ability to read engineering drawings.
  • Experience using precision measuring equipment.
  • Strong attention to detail and a quality-focused mindset.
  • Flexible to work rotating shifts before moving onto continental shifts.

  • 3 shift rotation: Days/Backs/Nights followed by Continental shift pattern
