Quality Inspector
📍 Rosyth Dockyard, Dunfermline, Scotland
📅 Contract: October 2026 to December 2027
⏰ 45 Hours Per Week (9 Hours Per Day)
About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced Quality Inspector to support a major infrastructure programme at Rosyth Dockyard. This is an exciting opportunity to join a highly regulated project environment, ensuring quality standards are maintained across supplier, manufacturing, construction, and site activities.
The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering quality control inspections, witnessing tests and inspections, ensuring compliance with regulatory and contractual requirements, and supporting the project through all stages of delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out Quality Control inspections in accordance with specifications, Quality Plans and Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs).
- Witness and verify inspections, testing activities, Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs), and Site Acceptance Tests (SATs).
- Monitor manufacturing and construction activities to ensure compliance with approved procedures and quality requirements.
- Ensure inspection, measuring and test equipment is correctly calibrated and maintained.
- Raise and manage Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), deviations and concessions where required.
- Produce detailed inspection reports and provide quality-related updates to project teams.
- Support supplier assessments and capability reviews.
- Verify Lifetime Quality Records (LTQRs) and ensure accurate project documentation is maintained.
- Provide objective quality evidence and recommendations to support project decision-making.
- Support NEC4 Supervisor activities, including witness points, hold points, and contractual quality obligations.

What We're Looking For
- Relevant technical qualification within a civil, construction, or related engineering discipline.
- Proven experience carrying out quality inspections within manufacturing, construction, installation, or infrastructure environments.
- Strong ability to interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, Quality Plans and ITPs.
- Understanding of inspection techniques relating to disciplines such as civil construction, welding, NDT, coatings, or electrical works.
- Experience using electronic reporting systems and Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to engage effectively with suppliers, contractors, and project stakeholders.
- Knowledge of quality requirements within highly regulated industries.

Desirable Experience
- Experience working within the nuclear sector or other highly regulated environments.
- Familiarity with NEC4 contracts and the NEC4 Supervisor function.
- Working knowledge of regulatory and quality requirements applicable to nuclear licensed sites.
