Quality Inspector
Are you passionate about delivering excellent repairs services and ensuring tenants receive the quality they deserve?
Our growing In-House Maintenance Team is seeking a Quality Inspector to play a key role in enhancing repair quality, tenant satisfaction, and service performance. Through inspections, quality assurance activities, and investigations, you will help ensure repairs are completed right first time, lessons are learned from service failures, and our tenants receive the high standard of service they expect and deserve.
This is more than simply identifying when something isn't right. You'll work with our operatives, contractors, and repairs teams to understand tenant dissatisfaction, quality issues, identify where improvements are needed, and help prevent repeat repairs and service failures.
With a varied mix of on-site inspections and office-based tasks and analysis, it's a great opportunity to use technical knowledge while playing a direct role in improving the quality of our repairs service and the experience our tenants receive.
What will you be doing?
As a Quality Inspector, you will provide independent assurance on the quality and effectiveness of the repairs service through the assessment and investigation of completed repairs and customer interactions. You will monitor compliance with service standards, identify trends and root causes, share learning opportunities, and support continuous service improvement. The role plays a key part in delivering a high-quality, customer-focused repairs service that drives performance, compliance, and tenant satisfaction.
Responsibilities include, but aren't limited to:
- Conduct quality inspections of completed repairs to ensure compliance and quality standards.
- Identify defects, service failures, and non-compliance, ensuring corrective actions are implemented.
- Investigate repeat repairs, complaints, and tenant dissatisfaction to identify root causes and drive improvements.
- Monitor and follow up on corrective actions to ensure issues are resolved effectively.
- Assess tenant satisfaction and use feedback to improve service delivery and customer experience.
- Monitor contractor and operative performance, providing feedback to improve quality and first-time fix rates.
- Collaborate with operational teams to enhance repair quality, performance, and tenant outcomes.
- Communicate inspection findings and resolutions clearly with tenants and stakeholders.
- Maintain accurate inspection records and produce reports to identify trends and improvement opportunities.
- Provide technical guidance and support continuous improvement, innovation, and compliance with the Decent Homes Standard.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
