Job Introduction
We are currently seeking 2no. Quality Inspectors to join our Completions & Transitions team here at SCS Railways.
About The Role
The Quality Inspector is responsible for managing the independent site inspections. Providing assurance to both the SCSJV Management and the Client that the Delivery Team and the supply chain are delivering the Works in accordance with the Works Information and the design requirements. The first line of defence will be by the delivery of on-site training and coaching of the Delivery Team. The second line will be by carrying out inspections of the Works. The role will involve working in a specific area of the project and providing support to other Quality Inspectors across both sections of the project. A key part of this role will also involve conducting CC3* (Consequence Class 3*) inspections, in compliance with Eurocodes.

Main Responsibilities
- Be proactive in preventing substandard Works being produced by coaching and providing training.
- To be the arbiter between all parties on any quality related issues, preventing them being raise directly to the Project Director where possible without compromising quality.
- Ensure that quality management is given the highest priority in delivery in the delivery of their works to achieve right first time.
- Communicate with delivery team and sub-contractors to ensure full understanding of quality assurance requirements.
- Check the works during progress and on completion to ensure that it has been constructed in line with the Work Information.
- Communicate to the Quality Managers and Quality Engineers any non-conformances.
- Ensure that inspection and tests are carried out in line with the inspection and test plans, Safe System of Work for the controlling the works and that all necessary documentation is produced in a timely manner.
- Assist the Quality engineers in carrying out site surveillances.
- In addition to the above discipline role, the Quality Inspectors must carry out his/her duties in accordance with the SCSJV Core Values. Understand the Client and Joint Venture Partners' Environment and Sustainability Policies, Processes and statutory requirements as they affect the company's operations and ensure that the requirements, as applicable within their discipline, are implemented on the project.

The Ideal Candidate
- Experience within quality related role on a major infrastructure project.
- Experience of working on Civil engineering projects.
- Computer competence (MS Word, Excel).
- Relevant CSCS Card.
- On-site training in Quality.
- Knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 quality management systems is desired.

The Skanska | Costain | STRABAG (SCS JV) is delivering the HS2 London Tunnels Contract. Scope of works includes twin-bored tunnels (TBM), SCL tunnels, shaft sinking, bridge demolition and reconstruction, services diversions, earthworks and the construction of site compounds.
