Quality Inspector

£25,000 - £35,000 per annum depending on experience

Brentwood, Essex

On-site

A global distribution company supplying the aerospace industry is looking to recruit an Inspector to ensure components and products meet customer, technical and regulatory requirements. Applications are welcomed from experienced candidates with a background in aerospace, engineering, manufacturing or quality, particularly those familiar with inspection within a regulated environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out dimensional, visual and documentation checks on incoming parts and outgoing products
  • Identify materials and components for ad hoc sample inspections
  • Create and maintain product inspection checklists
  • Record findings and complete detailed quality reports
  • Create, manage and review First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs) in accordance with AS9102
  • Support internal and external calibration activities
  • Assist with root cause and failure mode investigations relating to product returns
  • Raise and manage non-conformities and supplier returns
  • Monitor, review and action shelf-life inventory
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation
  • Work with internal teams and suppliers to resolve quality issues

  • Previous experience in an inspection, quality or engineering role
  • Aerospace experience is highly desirable
  • Working knowledge of aerospace regulations and quality requirements
  • Knowledge of AS9102 and ISO 2859-1 would be advantageous
  • Ability to read and understand technical drawings, specifications and data
  • Experience using measuring equipment such as micrometers and verniers
  • Good computer skills, including Microsoft Outlook, Word and MS Office
  • Strong communication, numeracy and literacy skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and an organised approach
