Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Quality Inspector to join our busy poultry processing facility in Coupar Angus for the AM shift, running Monday to Friday from 6:30 AM to 3:30 PM. Rate of Pay: £14.02 (Training Rate)

In this vital role, you will ensure that all products meet stringent food safety, quality, and customer specifications prior to distribution. Your key responsibilities will include conducting routine quality checks, audits, and product inspections along the production line, monitoring strict adherence to hygiene and health and safety regulations, accurately recording inspection data, and reporting any non-conformances to the technical team while supporting continuous improvement initiatives.

We are looking for candidates with strong attention to detail, good communication skills, and the ability to work effectively within a fast-paced team environment, with previous experience in a quality control or food production setting being preferred.

Qualifications

  • Food Safety Level 2: Recognized certification demonstrating a solid understanding of food hygiene, safe food handling practices, and contamination prevention within a production environment.
  • Health and Safety Level 2: Certified competence in workplace health and safety protocols, hazard identification, and maintaining a safe operational environment.
  • English Proficiency: Strong written and spoken communication skills in English, essential for accurate record-keeping, reporting non-conformances, and effective collaboration with team members.
  • Maths and Numeric Proficiency: Strong numeracy skills for accurate data recording, calculating percentages, measuring temperatures, and conducting weight checks.
  • IT and Systems Literacy: Familiarity with computerized quality management systems, electronic data collection handhelds, and standard office software like Microsoft Excel.
  • Food Industry Experience: Previous hands-on experience working within the food, beverage, or FMCG (Fast-Moving Consumer Goods) manufacturing sectors.
