Quality Inspector

Location: Stockport

Salary: £39,500-£41,500 per annum (DOE)

Hours: 08:00-17:00 Monday to Friday

Reference: ASPLIV

Are you an experienced Quality Inspector with strong CMM and metrology experience?

Do you have a good understanding of engineering drawings, GD&T, dimensional inspection, and quality requirements?

Would you enjoy a hands-on role working closely with Production, Engineering, and Quality teams within a precision engineering environment?

Our client is looking to recruit a Quality Inspector to join their Quality team, responsible for ensuring products meet specified requirements and comply with the company's ISO 9001 standards.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Quality Inspector who enjoys a hands on role involving CMM inspection, conventional metrology, first off inspection, non conformance, and working closely with Production and Engineering to maintain high quality standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform incoming, in-process and final inspections.
  • Inspect products against drawings, specifications and tolerances.
  • Operate and program CMM equipment for dimensional inspection.
  • Use CMMs and conventional metrology equipment including micrometres, verniers and bore gauges.
  • Produce inspection reports and maintain accurate quality records/FAI documentation.
  • Ensure equipment is calibrated and inspection results are fully traceable.
  • Identify, segregate and report non-conforming products, raising NCRs where required.
  • Carry out first-off inspections and support Production with quality issues.
  • Work with Production and Engineering to resolve dimensional and drawing-related issues.
  • Support quality KPIs, root cause analysis and continuous improvement.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working as a Quality Inspector within an engineering, manufacturing, or precision engineering environment.
  • Strong CMM operation and programming experience.
  • Good understanding of conventional metrology and dimensional inspection techniques.
  • Strong ability to interpret engineering drawings and GD&T.
  • Experience using inspection equipment including micrometres, verniers, bore gauges, and CMMs.
  • Experience producing inspection reports and maintaining accurate quality records.
  • Understanding of ISO 9001 quality requirements.
  • Experience dealing with non-conforming products and raising NCRs.
  • Strong attention to detail with a high level of accuracy.
  • Ability to work closely with Production, Engineering, and Quality teams.
  • A proactive approach to identifying quality issues and opportunities for improvement.
  • Good communication skills with the confidence to challenge where quality requirements are not being met.

Package Details:

  • £39,500-£41,500 per annum
  • 08:00-17:00 Monday to Friday
  • 25 days annual leave + Bank Holiday
  • Company pension
