Role: Quality Management System Implementation Lead

Location: Outskirts of Bristol – hybrid/onsite requirement of 3 days per week.

Start: September

Rate: £47-£54pphr outside IR35

Interview: 1-stage MS Teams process

Summary

We are seeking an experienced Quality Management professional to support a business-wide Quality Management System implementation and compliance programme within an industrial/manufacturing environment.

The successful contractor will work closely with senior management, process owners, and operational teams to coordinate implementation activities, support gap assessments, maintain project documentation, and drive actions through to completion. This is a hands-on role for someone who is comfortable working independently, managing multiple priorities, and engaging with stakeholders across different levels of an organisation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support implementation and deployment of Quality Management System requirements across the business.
  • Develop, review, and maintain controlled QMS documentation.
  • Support the creation and improvement of processes, procedures, work instructions, and associated records.
  • Assist with document control and periodic document reviews.
  • Conduct and support gap assessments against relevant quality requirements.
  • Track corrective actions and support teams in closing identified gaps.
  • Maintain implementation plans, action trackers, and project records.
  • Coordinate internal audit activity, schedules, and associated documentation.
  • Support preparation for external assessments and certification activity.
  • Follow up audit findings and corrective actions.
  • Maintain quality-related records, reporting, and performance metrics.
  • Support continuous improvement and process standardisation activities.

Desirable experience

  • 3+ years of working with IATF 16949 / automotive QMS
