Job Description

Bring quality leadership within assigned projects by acting as a change agent to drive a continuous improvement culture. Coach and mentor Project Managers from time to time to ensure the quality culture is sustained.

Establish, drive and support the defined Quality Management System, tailored and aligned to project-specific requirements, to ensure quality in processes and services/solution offerings within the project fleet.

As a member of the core project team, the Quality Manager in Projects will have a special focus on failure prevention within the project and advocate for higher quality standards.

Key Responsibilities & Deliverables

  • Provide expertise and guidance on quality matters relating to projects, promoting a customer-focused quality culture.
  • Decide the level of Quality Management support required for each project, which may include:
    • Quality Management Plans
    • Quality Dossiers
    • Inspection and Test Plans
  • Work in conjunction with the Project Manager to identify project quality deliverables in line with customer and business requirements.
  • Provide quality involvement prior to project handover, in conjunction with the Sales team.
  • Define, monitor and report project quality objectives and KPIs.
  • Attend project reviews in a quality capacity to support the respective teams.
  • Drive and support the execution of non-conformance management within projects.
  • Identify areas for improvement.
  • Approve every Quality Gate in line with business requirements.
  • Support the Project Team in achieving the required quality standards.
  • Provide support for assigned audits and participate in meetings as requested by the Heads of Projects and Regional Leads.
  • Facilitate root cause analysis investigations, monitoring, following up and closing out actions as required.

Quality Requirements

  • Proposal assessments and clarifications.
  • Quality Control identification and scheduling.

Quality Planning

  • Customer Quality Assurance Plans.
  • Process Deviation Plans.
  • Internal Project Controls.
  • Inspection and Test Plan Assurance.

Quality Support

  • Audits, including contract audits conducted by a customer.
  • Process awareness.
  • Lessons learned awareness.
  • Customer and Regional support as required.

Non-Conformance Management

Drive and support the execution of non-conformance management within projects. This includes:

  • Risk management.
  • Facilitation.
  • Identification of process and improvement opportunities.
  • Ensuring functional experts are consulted.
  • Driving robust mitigation strategies.
  • Monitoring risk impact.
  • Developing and ensuring quality controls are planned, implemented and validated, for example through the application of lessons learned.
  • Leading and requesting the initiation of quality investigations, e.g. CAPAs/CSM.
  • Advising project teams on non-conformance management governance.
  • Driving the reduction of Gross NCCs.

Quality Gates

  • Approve every Quality Gate in line with business requirements.
  • Have the authority to reject a Quality Gate and request rectification work if the required quality standard has not been met or there is a significant risk to the project that has not been mitigated.
  • Support the Project Team in achieving the required quality standard.
  • Be responsible for delivering assigned work packages associated with the Quality Gate, e.g. Quality Assurance Plans.
  • Have the authority to call a Quality Stop Work within a project if there is a significant risk to meeting customer deliverables and/or to the business.
  • Quality Stop Work will not be lifted until the required level of rectification or mitigation has been achieved.
