This is a key position within the organisation, reporting directly to the Board of Directors and taking responsibility for the continued development and performance of the company’s quality systems.
The Role
As Quality Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring products meet customer, legal and internal requirements, whilst driving quality improvement and maintaining robust management systems across the business.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Managing and maintaining the ISO 9001 Quality Management System
- Driving continuous improvement and quality performance across the business
- Ensuring compliance with relevant standards, legislation and customer requirements
- Working closely with Production to maintain and improve product quality
- Managing quality requirements with external suppliers
- Liaising with customers regarding quality issues and corrective actions
- Monitoring quality performance and producing management reports
- Managing incoming, in-process and final product inspection processes
- Developing and maintaining quality procedures and documentation
- Managing and developing the Quality team
- Supporting the implementation of ISO 45001 (Health & Safety) and ISO 14001 (Environmental Management)
- Managing the company’s existing Health & Safety system
- Working collaboratively with different departments to improve quality standards and processes

About You
The successful candidate will ideally have:
- Previous experience in a Quality Manager / Senior Quality position within a manufacturing environment
- Strong knowledge of ISO 9001
- Experience managing and improving Quality Management Systems
- A good understanding of corrective actions, audits, inspections and continuous improvement
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- The ability to work effectively with production, purchasing, customers and senior management
- Experience managing or developing a quality function
- Metallurgical knowledge would be advantageous, although not essential.
