Quality Manager
UK Staffing Group is recruiting for a Quality Manager to join an established UK engineering business as it develops a new fabrication operation in the North West.
This is a genuinely hands-on quality role. The business isn't looking for somebody to simply maintain an established system – they need someone who can build, implement and embed a robust Quality Management System and support the new operation towards ISO 9001 accreditation.
The Role
Working closely with the Operations Manager and wider compliance team, you'll take ownership of quality across the new facility. You'll be responsible for:
- Developing and implementing the site's Quality Management System
- Supporting the business towards ISO 9001 accreditation
- Creating practical quality procedures, processes, and documentation
- Establishing inspection, traceability, and quality-control processes
- Managing NCRs, corrective actions, and root-cause investigations
- Developing internal audit processes and maintaining audit readiness
- Working directly with manufacturing and fabrication teams to improve quality
- Identifying recurring issues and driving continuous improvement
- Ensuring quality requirements are understood and followed on the shop floor
- Building a quality culture that works operationally – not just on paper

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
