Quality Manager
We have an exciting opportunity for a Quality Manager to play a vital role in providing support at our Mental Health Recovery service in West Sussex.
Position: Quality Manager
Location: Hybrid Burgess Hill/ BHT Sussex venue
Salary: £58,878 per annum, pro rata (£29,439 per annum 0.5 FTE)
Hours: 18.5 hours per week 0.5 FTE
Contract: Fixed-Term Contract – 31 March 2028

About the Mental Health Recovery Service
Mental Health Recovery is a 20-place service for adults experiencing mental ill health across two sites, Oak House and Leylands Road, in Burgess Hill, West Sussex. Both locations are CQC registered ‘Good’.
About the Role
The Quality Manager is a new part time and flexible strategic leadership role with a quality and governance focus, offering the opportunity to improve and support an established specialist mental health service. You will work alongside our long-standing registered manager.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate quality improvement initiatives across the service
- Maintain oversight of operational, quality, workforce and organisational risks affecting the service.
- Work collaboratively with the Registered Manager to strengthen service performance.
- Contribute to future service planning and organisational priorities.
- Maintain effective working relationships with commissioners, safeguarding teams, regulators and partner agencies.

Person Specification
To be successful in the role of Quality Manager you will need to have great communication skills and be committed to the values of BHT Sussex. Some of the key skills and experience you will need to bring:
- Significant experience within regulated health or social care services
- Experience leading quality improvement, turnaround or service recovery programmes.
- Experience supporting and developing Registered Managers, operational managers or service leaders.
- Experience supporting people with complex needs within a regulated care environment.
- Experience identifying, managing and reporting strategic and operational risks.
- Experience supporting and developing staff.
We welcome applications from experienced Registered Managers, Regional Managers, Quality Managers and Improvement Leads with experience of regulated mental health or social care services.
