L3Harris in Brighton are part of our Release Systems & Antennas division operating in the Aerospace domain. For over 70 years, L3Harris has designed and developed industry-leading carriage and release systems for fighter, rotary-wing and unmanned platforms and we design, manufacture and test a large portion of our release systems portfolio in our Brighton facility which offers 48,500 square feet of manufacturing space. Our mission-critical release systems equipment is on most major airborne fighter platforms worldwide, including the F-35, along with other aircraft like the Gripen and Typhoon.

The Quality Manager
The Quality Manager is a core member of the Operations leadership team providing guidance on the governance, cadence, development, implementation, leadership & measurement necessary to ensure total quality management within the company.
What the role will involve
The responsibilities of your role will include the following:
- Ensuring the business adheres to governance, standards, regulations and customer requirements
- Develop and set Quality goals, proactively seeking opportunities to provide QA inputs to company and operational strategy.
- Responsible for leading, providing guidance, coaching and training to the Quality team and other staff members.
- Actively engage in reducing operating costs and increasing efficiency, seeking ways to improve performance of KPIs. Utilize Lean Six Sigma techniques and the E3 (Excellence, Everywhere, Every day) strategy.
- Lead the Quality team ensuring collaboration with the Supply Chain, Manufacturing and Engineering Function to assure the quality of goods and services.
- Listen to customer feedback, understand their requirements and seek opportunities for improvement.
- Benchmarking and adapting industry best practices to drive continual improvement in quality management processes.

What you’ll bring
The role requires the following experience and skills:
- Subject matter expert with comprehensive knowledge of Quality Assurance and Quality Management Systems with in-depth knowledge of manufacturing, engineering development & project management.
- The incumbent must have experience of managing Supplier Quality Assurance, Quality Engineering and Quality Control personnel.
- Substantial experience in a high complexity design and manufacturing environment, preferably in the aerospace / defence industry.
- Experience working in an ISO9001/AS9100 environment, preferably with previous experience of developing / supporting / maintaining high standards of accreditation.
- Previous experience in leading the solution for product realisation would be beneficial, including APQP / PPAP, customer interaction, supplier interaction, Value Analysis/Value Engineering (VA/VE) support, supplier component development & approval and supplier cost improvements.
