Role Overview
The Quality Manager for Fossil Americas Segment within Steam Power Services is responsible for leading quality execution and continuous improvement across the service value stream. This role drives prevention, problem solving, and process discipline to improve customer experience, reduce cost of poor quality, and strengthen operational performance across field, repairs, parts, and project execution. The successful candidate will partner cross-functionally to embed a culture of quality, ensure effective nonconformance and corrective action management, and drive sustainable improvement using lean and root cause methodologies.
Key Responsibilities
- Help build a culture where quality is planned into the work, processes are executed with discipline, defects and nonconformances are identified and addressed quickly, and lessons learned are translated into sustainable improvements.
- Serve as a change agent, partnering with front-line and back-office teams to solve problems, prevent recurrence, and improve the way we work.
Success Metrics
- Improved customer-facing quality metrics, including NCR closure, CAPA effectiveness, and customer experience trends.
- Reduced cost of poor quality through stronger prevention and faster resolution of quality issues.
- Effective cross-functional problem solving with sustainable corrective and preventive actions.
- Increased quality ownership across operations, field service, repairs, parts, and support functions.
- Strong operating rhythm and visibility into quality trends, risks, and improvement actions.

Your Role
- Support the quality operating rhythm for the Fossil Americas, including reporting, trend analysis, and action planning for customer experience, nonconformances, cost of poor quality, audits, and corrective actions.
- Drive robust nonconformance management, including increased issue capture, effective containment, timely resolution, and closure discipline.
- Lead and support root cause analysis and corrective/preventive action processes using methodologies such as 8D, A3, 5 Why, and other structured problem-solving tools.
- Partner with operating leaders and cross-functional teams to identify recurring issues, prioritize improvement opportunities, and implement sustainable countermeasures.
- Apply lean principles and quality planning & control methods to eliminate waste and improve process capability and operational execution.
- Drive continuous improvement across safety, quality, delivery, and cost in support of customer and business outcomes.
- Monitor quality trends and risks across field service, repairs, parts, and operations, and escalate systemic issues as needed.
- Ensure effective use of quality systems and tools, such as PowerNow Platform for NCR’s and RCA’s.
- Support audit readiness, compliance to procedures and standards, and sustainment of process improvements.
- Coach teams in quality fundamentals, problem solving, and prevention-based thinking to strengthen a culture of quality.

Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, quality management, or a related technical discipline from an accredited college or university.
- Proven & relevant experience in quality in manufacturing, or field service, or operations, or continuous improvement within power generation, energy, heavy industrial, or a related industry.
- Demonstrated experience leading nonconformance management, root cause analysis, and corrective/preventive action processes.
- Experience working cross-functionally in a matrixed environment.
- Strong commitment to safety, quality, and compliance.
- Ability and willingness to travel domestically approximately 10–30%.
Desired Characteristics
- Experience in power generation equipment and services, including steam turbines, generators, and plant auxiliaries.
- Strong knowledge of quality systems, continuous improvement, and structured problem-solving methodologies such as 8D, A3, 5 Why, fishbone, FMEA, and CAPA.
- Experience supporting complex projects and providing quality guidance across multiple functions.
- Familiarity with field service, repairs, outage execution, installation, welding, diagnostics, NDT, or related service operations.
- Knowledge of applicable technical regulations, standards, and compliance requirements.
- Strong analytical skills, including the ability to interpret trends, identify systemic issues, and translate data into action.
- Effective communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence at all levels of the organization.
- Demonstrated ability to lead through influence, build credibility quickly, and drive change across multi-disciplinary teams.
- Self-motivated, organized, and execution-oriented, with strong follow-through.

- For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the pay range for this position is between $93,500.00 and $155,900.00. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set.
- Bonus eligibility: discretionary annual bonus.
