Company Description

On-systems is a UK-based power solutions company founded in 2010, focused on designing and manufacturing compact, high-performance, and rugged power products for defence and aerospace applications. The company specializes in Mil-COTS power, technology development, power supply design, and build-to-print solutions, driving innovation and technological advancement.

On-systems operates with a customer-centred ethos, managing the full lifecycle from understanding requirements to developing and delivering tailored solutions, while meeting tight deadlines and improving performance at lower cost. The company is headquartered in the UK and collaborates with certified UK manufacturing partners to forge long-term client relationships.

Summary of Functions

Reporting directly to the MD, you are responsible for all quality and ensuring the business remains compliant to regulations.

This is a pivotal role within the business, so you must have a proactive attitude and be systems-focused with a strong understanding of quality management, risk mitigation, and regulatory compliance.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and implementation of management systems.
  • All systems will be aligned to ISO 27001, ISO 14001, ISO 9001 and AS9100.
  • Take responsibility for conducting internal audits.
  • Complete gap analyses, and compliance reviews against relevant standards.
  • Manage all existing quality assurance processes under AS9100 & ISO 9001.
  • Prepare and oversee certification audits, documentation, and improvement plans.
  • Collaborate with various teams within the business to ensure the integration of quality.
  • Support staff training particularly around information security.
  • Act as a liaison with external auditors, certification bodies, and clients.
  • Develop and maintain risk registers, incident logs, and corrective & preventive action plans.

Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience in a quality or compliance leadership role.
  • Strong working knowledge of at least one or more of the following standards: AS9100, ISO 27001, ISO 14001 and ISO 9001.
  • Experience with planning and leading accreditation projects.
  • Exceptional organisational and project management skills.
  • Ability to prioritise and manage multiple workstreams.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Experience with getting ready for audits.
  • Must have an ability to influence at all levels.

Qualifications

  • Relevant qualifications in Quality Management, Compliance, Risk, or Security, with a preference in the following: CQI, Lead Auditor, NEBOSH and CISMP.
  • Preferably have experience within aerospace, defence, manufacturing, or highly regulated sectors.
