Location: Loughborough, LE11 1HL Salary: £30,000 - £36,000 per annum (depending on experience) Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:00 am – 5:00 pm (1-hour lunch) Contract: Full-time, Permanent
About the Role
We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Quality Officer to join our manufacturing team in Loughborough. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a technical background who enjoys working in a fast-paced industrial environment and is passionate about maintaining high-quality standards.
Working closely with production teams and our client's quality representatives, you will play a key role in ensuring that all reinforcement products meet customer specifications, company procedures, and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out daily inspections of assembled reinforcement cages, both internally and jointly with the client.
- Verify production against drawings and specifications, ensuring accurate inspection records are maintained for every cage produced.
- Perform regular quality inspections of Cut & Bent (C&B) reinforcement products and maintain comprehensive records.
- Conduct routine inspections of production jigs used during assembly and maintain inspection records.
- Raise and manage Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) whenever quality issues are identified.
- Investigate quality concerns, identify root causes, communicate findings to the relevant supervisor, and recommend corrective actions.
- Maintain accurate Quality KPI records to support ISO 9001 compliance and internal/external audits.
- Liaise professionally with customer quality representatives, resolving quality-related issues promptly and effectively.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and manufacturing processes.

About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
Essential
- Previous experience working in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- A technical background with the ability to read reinforcement drawings, Bar Bending Schedules (BBS), and basic engineering documentation.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills.
- The ability to prioritise multiple tasks and work independently.
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Confidence communicating with colleagues, supervisors, and customers.
- Competent IT skills, particularly in Microsoft Excel and Word.
- A proactive approach and commitment to maintaining high-quality standards.

Desirable
- Knowledge of ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems.
- Understanding of CARES certification requirements.
- Previous experience in reinforcement steel, precast concrete, construction, or heavy manufacturing.
