Role Details: Quality Officer

Location: Axiom Veterinary Laboratory - Manor House, Newton Abbot, Devon, United Kingdom, TQ12 4PB

Contract: Permanent

Hours: 40 hours per week

Shift Pattern: Monday - Friday, hours between 09.00 – 17.00

We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to join our Quality Department, where you'll play a vital role in helping to maintain and improve systems and processes.

About The Role

As a Quality Officer in our Quality team, you will be part of a small team dedicated to promoting quality and ensuring the high standards expected are continuously in place and improvements are sought at all times.

Your Primary Responsibilities Will Include

  • Mapping of Temperature controlled equipment: Ongoing checks of any temperature controlled equipment.
  • Equipment Maintenance & Calibrations: Ensuring all temperature monitoring equipment is calibrated and functioning within correct parameters for the tasks required.
  • Auditing: There is a very robust and full audit schedule in place to check procedures, systems and processes throughout the site. We also audit occasionally at our sister site and may be required to do external audits.
  • Quality Improvement: Our whole purpose is to look at how systems and processes can be improved and have a continual improvement of methodologies and procedures.
  • Problem Solving: A lot of the tasks require logical thinking and problem solving including completing investigations and putting improvements in place.
  • Record Keeping: Maintaining clear and accurate records is key to this role and at the forefront of everything we do.
  • Communication: Acting as a key liaison to ensure smooth information flow between colleagues, managers, and other departments and helping to promote Quality engagement on site.
  • Awareness of and adherence to QMS policies, procedures and methods in accordance with EN ISO 17025:2017, including the regular review of documents and identification of any required updates.

About You

We're looking for candidates who are:

  • Energetic and Proactive: Attentive to detail and eager to take initiative.

  • Multitaskers: Able to manage multiple tasks while maintaining excellent documentation in line with SOPs and systems in place.
  • Tech-Savvy: Competent with Microsoft 365.
  • Happy to travel: we work closely across two sites as a quality team and this requires visits to provide training and complete audits at times.

Whilst previous experience working in quality is advantageous, it is not required for this role as full training will be given.
