Job Description

We are currently recruiting for permanent Quality Resident Engineer to be based at our customer site in Derby. The main purpose of the role is to ensure customer satisfaction and ensure compliance of established quality standards by providing guidance and support.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Report and record all quality concerns found on Yazaki parts at the customers’ assembly plant
    • Act as “window” for communication between customer assembly plant and Yazaki.
    • Collate data and report back day to day concerns between the customer and Yazaki
    • Create, issue, co-ordinate and track 8D corrective action process
    • Communicate with Yazaki manufacturing plants to request and follow up with outstanding data from the plants.
    • Carry out pro-active parts audits.
    • Plant visits to confirm counter measure verifications
    • Gemba reviews in customer plant

  • Assist in ensuring the Quality function actively participates and supports in project and design activities

    • Support manufacturing plants with problem solving for quality issues
    • Support Yazaki Project Management System and other Toyota eSQAM activities where required
    • Provide support for engineering activities within the plant
    • Immediately report any major concerns and roadblocks to Management
  • Co-ordination of rework activities

    • Check manpower requirements for any in-plant activities.
    • Support the Quality Supervisor in the control, training and education of agency rework staff located
  • Support Toyota QA functions

    • Support Toyota QA - QIP & QAP & kakotora activities.
    • On time reporting with alert reports and line calls

Requirements

  • Experience of vehicle assembly process
  • Working knowledge of Global 8D, problem solving techniques, Ishikawa, Poke-Yoke, Kaizen and 6 Sigma processes
  • Broad and varied experience, working within a Quality Function
  • Effective time management
  • Experience of planning daily tasks and duties
  • Ability to communicate with customers at all working levels
  • Works well under pressure
  • Able to work flexible hours
  • Good working knowledge of MS Office products, especially Excel
  • Excellent communication skills
  • High attention to detail
  • Full valid driving licence to drive in the UK
  • Right to work in the UK
