Job Introduction
Salary: £45,050.98 per annum (pro-rated to £22,525.49 per annum), plus £4,775.00 allowance for candidates based in London only (pro-rated to £2,387.50 per annum).
Contract Type: Permanent
Location: Can be based in any of our Hubs: London – Spring House, Manchester, Liverpool, Birmingham, Leeds or Glasgow.
Type of Working Arrangement: Blended approach of home and office-working is available
Hours: Part time - 18.5 hours per week

The Opportunity
Are you looking for your next exciting career move? British Transport Police have an excellent opportunity for a Quality, Standards and Training Delivery Specialist to join the Learning and Development Department.
As a Quality, Standards and Training Delivery Specialist with BTP, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that all training delivered across the force meets the highest standards. You will lead key quality assurance processes, support the design and development of learning programmes, and help develop BTP’s trainer capability—ensuring our training remains modern, effective and aligned with external regulatory expectations.
What You'll Be Doing
- Implementing and maintaining internal and external quality assurance frameworks to ensure compliance with recognised standards.
- Reviewing, auditing and evaluating training programmes and delivery methods, identifying opportunities to improve quality and effectiveness.
- Conducting training needs analysis and working with subject matter experts, trainers and learning specialists to design and develop high-quality learning solutions.
- Delivering trainer development programmes, qualifications and continuous professional development activities to build organisational training capability.
Essential Criteria
Qualifications
- Recognised teaching/training qualification at Level 5 or above.
- A1 Assessor qualification (or equivalent)
- V1 Internal Verifier qualification (or equivalent).

- Experience working in a quality assurance role.
- Experience of delivering all aspects of the training cycle, including training needs analysis, design, delivery and evaluation.
Skills
- Strong organisational and excellent stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to undertake training needs analysis, training design, assessment and evaluation activities.
Knowledge
- Knowledge of training needs analysis, learning delivery methods and evaluation approaches.
- Knowledge of quality assurance frameworks and awarding body requirements.
- Knowledge of online learning systems, including Learning Management Systems (LMS).
Travel Requirements
This role requires travel within the UK and may include occasional overnight stays.
