About Us
Colloide Engineering Systems Ltd. is an engineering company who design and manufacture specialist engineered products for the water, wastewater, and energy sectors, including chemical dosing systems, GRP products, bridge scrapers, substations, pump skids, control panels, showers, hose reels, and bespoke fabrications.
Quality is central to everything we do — and as we invest in our digital quality management infrastructure, we are looking for the right person to own and drive it.
The Role
This is not a standard inspection role. As Quality Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for Colloide's digital quality management system — developing ITP libraries, designing and configuring inspection workflows in Procore, managing quality gates, producing dashboards and KPI reporting, standardising inspection forms across all product lines, and training staff to ensure consistent adoption across all sites.
Alongside the digital systems remit, you will provide hands-on quality assurance across the full project lifecycle — from design review and incoming goods through to fabrication, assembly, testing, and Factory Acceptance. You will work closely with our Design, Engineering, Project Management, Procurement, and Production teams to embed quality at every stage.
Key Responsibilities
Quality Assurance — Full Project Lifecycle
- Participate in design reviews and ensure project-specific ITPs are configured and approved within Procore before production commences
- Engage with Project Managers from kick-off, reviewing client specifications and building quality requirements into each project programme
- Manage incoming goods inspections, material certification checks, and supplier NCR processes
- Carry out in-process quality inspections throughout fabrication and assembly, maintaining quality gate checkpoints at each workstation
- Plan, coordinate, and lead Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs), including client-witnessed inspections, with all records managed within Procore
- Raise and manage Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), lead root cause investigations using 5 Whys, Fishbone or FMEA, and ensure corrective actions are implemented and verified
- Support internal and external audits including ISO 9001 surveillance and water authority inspections

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
