Quality Systems Engineer

Elevation Recruitment Group are delighted to be partnering with a well-established manufacturing business in Sheffield to recruit a Quality Systems Engineer. This is an excellent opportunity for a quality professional with experience in compliance, auditing, and quality management systems to join a growing organisation operating within a highly regulated engineering environment.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys driving quality standards, leading audits, and supporting continuous improvement across the business.

The Role

As the Quality Systems Engineer, you will play a key role in ensuring compliance with industry standards, maintaining quality systems, and supporting a culture of continuous improvement throughout the organisation.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Maintaining and improving quality management systems in line with ISO 9001, AS9100, and other relevant standards.
  • Planning, conducting, and supporting internal audits across multiple departments.
  • Acting as the primary contact for external audits with customers, certification bodies, and regulatory organisations.
  • Managing audit schedules and ensuring the business remains audit-ready.
  • Investigating non-conformances, carrying out root cause analysis, and driving effective corrective actions.
  • Monitoring compliance with quality procedures, policies, and industry standards.
  • Supporting continuous improvement initiatives across manufacturing and business processes.
  • Developing and maintaining quality documentation, procedures, and work instructions.
  • Supporting supplier quality activities, including supplier evaluations and audits where required.
  • Delivering guidance and training to colleagues on quality systems and compliance requirements.
  • Assisting with customer quality investigations and supporting wider quality activities as needed.

About You

We're looking for an organised and proactive quality professional who can work independently while building strong relationships across the business.

You'll ideally have:

  • Experience within a Quality Engineering or Quality Assurance role.
  • Strong knowledge of Quality Management Systems, particularly ISO 9001 and AS9100.
  • Experience conducting internal and external audits.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with experience of root cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Strong communication, organisational, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office.
  • An Internal Auditor qualification (ISO 9001/AS9100) would be advantageous.
  • Experience within aerospace or precision engineering would be beneficial but is not essential.
