Rivan Industries (Rivan.com) is a synthetic fuel company designed to decarbonise heavy industry. We aim to make synthetic fuel cheaper than fossil fuels and sustain life on Earth by keeping the CO2 locked underground.

We design and manufacture modular synthetic fuel plants consisting of a DAC system, an Alkaline Electrolyser, and a Sabatier Reactor, vertically integrating with off-grid DC solar and the European gas-grid. We’ve recently deployed the UK’s largest synthetic fuel plant and are planning to 1000x this scale in the next 2 years.

We’re looking for a Quality Team Lead as we continue to expand into our new 60,000 sq ft manufacturing and R&D facility in London, then our significantly expanded Production Base 2, whilst simultaneously deploying our hardware at project sites. This is someone who understands how to effectively set-up and maintain quality management systems, establish suitable testing processes and procedures from early design stages, through to final products. The role will also involve managing a team of less senior quality engineers as we continue to scale.

The role

• Working with Senior Management and Quality team on selecting, deploying, and operating an appropriate Quality Management System (QMS)
• During rapid scaling, a suitable quality management system requires defining. Experience with QMS’s, and deployment of them is paramount in this role.
• Defining and Establishing Suitable Quality Procedures and Testing for Product Manufacture
  • As part of our launch into manufacturing, our Quality Team Lead must be able to define, then roll out quality management procedures and best practice into our production line.
  • The Quality team will be embedded within the R&D teams during successive design cycles to ensure quality is considered from the outset.
• Reviewing and Optimising Existing Quality/Testing Procedures
  • At Rivan, we always look at how we can do things better.
  • Regular reviews/assessments into inefficiencies of existing quality checks is necessary, including assessing where they should, and shouldn’t be.
• Inspecting Manufactured Systems and Raising NCR’s When Necessary
  • Where components/assemblies/systems are not up to standard, NCR’s and possible re-work are necessary.
  • Utilising the QMS that you’ve defined to maximise day to day production
  • The establishment, and execution of these procedures in detail will be driven by the Quality Team Lead.
• Overseeing Quality Engineers
  • This is the Quality Lead role. Quality Engineers will sit underneath, and require oversight, guidance, and managing.
  • As Rivan continues to expand, the team will continue to expand to meet workload.
  • The role will report directly to the Manufacturing Director.
