Quality Team Leader
Location: Prestwick, Ayrshire
Hours: 37 hours per week (half-day Friday)
Type: Full-time
Salary: £50,960
Travel Required: Occasional
Work Location: Site-based (100%)

Prestwick Aerosystems continues Ayrshire’s long-standing aircraft manufacturing tradition. From our Prestwick site, we manufacture aircraft wing structures used on Airbus commercial aircraft worldwide.
In this role, you will be responsible for the provision and management of all Quality Engineering related issues including:
- Ensuring that quality is maintained by adherence to Customer and Regulatory requirements.
- Ensuring that valid Quality Processes are deployed within the manufacturing process and drive effective corrective action for all product and process non-compliances.
- Managing the customer and key stakeholders in respect of all product quality related issues and ensure the appropriate dialog is maintained throughout.
You will be responsible for the leadership and problem resolution of quality engineering constraints and manufacturing issues both in-house and in the supply chain, and will work in partnership with the Operations team to drive a quality mindset and compliance methodology using the designated quality review processes to deliver improvements.
How you will contribute to the team
You will:
- Support the development of Quality Metrics for the Operations Management team which gives visibility of non-compliance status and progress of corrective and preventive actions within the manufacturing processes.
- Ensure compliance to regulatory authority requirements, industry standards and customer requirements as defined by the following; AS9100 Aerospace Standard, NADCAP, CAA and EASA Airworthiness Regulations and customer specific quality requirements.
- Support the management of the day-to-day product quality issues through the team and ensure that the Quality management team are engaged with all issues and the escalation process is deployed to resolve systemic problems.
- Manage and actively liaise with Tier 1 suppliers, to ensure product and process quality problems, NC1's, Concessions, Disclosures etc. are managed to an agreed timescale are quickly and effectively addressed.
- Establish and maintain a surveillance process which ensures our quality standards through the ongoing product audit and monitoring of performance.

Requirements for the role
You will have:
- Qualified to Degree level or equivalent in a related engineering discipline
- Relevant quality/engineering experience within a Quality and Manufacturing Engineering environment
- Knowledge of engineering systems and the ability to deploy the Quality Toolset and the Continuous Improvement Toolset - Seven Wastes etc
- Awareness of drawings and systems as applied within our major customers such as Boeing and Airbus
- A good working knowledge of Microsoft Packages - Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Access
