Its services span from initial consultation through build-to-print, and now extend into aerospace, medical, marine, and white goods sectors where advanced lighting enhances product design. The Lighting Consultants design and manufacture high-quality interior and exterior lighting for low- and medium-volume luxury and traditional automotive brands. The organization is known for pushing the boundaries of innovation to provide a competitive edge for some of the world’s most iconic vehicles.

Role Description

The Quality Technician is a full-time, on-site position based in Birmingham. This role focuses on monitoring, inspecting, and testing lighting products and components to ensure they meet internal standards and customer specifications. Day-to-day responsibilities include:

  • Maintaining accurate records of inspections

The Quality Technician collaborates closely with engineering, production, and management teams to identify issues, improve processes, and uphold consistent quality across projects. The role also involves contributing to continuous improvement initiatives and supporting compliance with relevant industry and customer requirements.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated skills in Quality Control and Quality Assurance to ensure products meet defined standards and customer requirements.
  • Experience with Quality Auditing and Quality Management practices to support structured quality systems and compliance activities.
  • Strong Analytical Skills to interpret data, identify trends, and assist in root cause analysis and corrective action planning.
  • Attention to detail and ability to follow technical drawings, specifications, and test procedures in a manufacturing or engineering environment.
  • Prior experience in automotive, lighting, or related engineering/manufacturing sectors is highly beneficial.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams on-site.
  • Relevant technical qualification or vocational training in engineering, quality, or a related discipline preferred.
