Essential Duties

  • Perform First Article, internal New Part, and receiving inspection of product in accordance with Customer and Internal Specification Requirements and/or Quality Plans, using precision measuring equipment, standard inspection gauges, and custom gauges
  • Inspect & complete inspection forms for frames
  • Complete or assist with in-process inspection & perform random quality inspections
  • Record all inspection data on appropriate forms and create and maintain files for all inspection documentation
  • Read detailed prints to understand nominal and tolerance specifications
  • Assist other Inspection/Quality staff
  • Complete weld inspection as required identifying & interpreting weld symbols & welding requirements
  • Carry out tasks in a safe manner in accordance with known and/or published safety policies
  • Enter quality records into ERP system
  • Request/maintain material certifications for FAIR, PPAP, & Compliance
  • Collect/Compile statistical data
  • Support new supplier qualification process

Responsibilities

  • Maintain process flow by planning and prioritizing work.
  • Represent Quality for new and existing product improvement and quality plan initiatives
  • Calibration of gauges and maintaining calibration records, system, and information
  • Work with third party resources for calibration and obtaining inspection tools / gauges
  • Resolve problems and answer questions from department employees concerning Quality issues
  • Recognize nonconforming products and services and initiates action to prevent the occurrence of nonconformities relating to product, process, and/or quality system
  • Anticipate, trouble shoot, and resolve problems with good manufacturing practices

Authority

  • Exercise authority as determined by Management for final disposition of product
  • Stop production if any process adversely affects product quality

Education and/or Experience

  • Prior quality inspection, auditing, and testing

Physical Demands and Working Conditions

  • Constant standing and walking required
  • Regularly required to bend, stoop, squat, kneel and reach
  • Regularly required to lift and move materials
