Job Description: Quality Assurance Officer

Due to growing demand, we are currently in search of a Quality Assurance Officer to join our team. This is a permanent role and will report to the Quality Director.
Responsibilities
- Carry out product inspections during the manufacturing process and at the end of production, ensuring compliance with quality requirements, specifications, and customer requirements.
- Carry out practical product testing in accordance with applicable standards and procedures, particularly EN 840/5, including the preparation of products and equipment required for testing.
- Perform random inspections of loads and materials received from suppliers against established quality standards.
- Inspect, sample, and control raw materials and recycled materials upon receipt, including laboratory testing such as MFI and moisture content.
- Carry out and accurately factory-based testing records, ensuring results are properly documented and communicated.
- Identify and record non-conformities within the factory and support investigations, root-cause analysis, and corrective actions.
- Support the investigation and follow-up of supplier quality issues and complaints.
- Participate in supplier visits and inspections where required.
- Monitor and support trials aimed at increasing the use and quality of recycled material.
- Support the investigation of customer quality complaints, including inspections, testing, data analysis, and follow-up actions.
- Propose product and process improvements to enhance quality, efficiency, and reliability.
- Support the preparation of internal, customer, and external audits, including the preparation of quality records, test results, and supporting documentation.
- Support environmental compliance activities within the plant where required.
- Work closely with Production and other departments to identify and resolve day-to-day quality issues.

Requirements
Essential
- Previous experience in a Quality Technician, Quality Inspector, Materials Technician, or similar quality role within a manufacturing environment.
- Practical experience of product inspection and/or testing.
- Ability to follow technical specifications, testing procedures, and quality standards accurately.
- Experience using measuring, inspection with testing equipment.
- Good attention to detail and ability to identify and report quality issues and non-conformities.
- Ability to accurately record and communicate inspection and test results.
Desirable
- Experience within plastics and/or injection moulding.
- Technical qualification in Quality, Engineering, Manufacturing, Materials Science, or a related discipline would be advantageous but is not essential.
- Experience of laboratory testing, including MFI and/or moisture testing.
- Knowledge of EN 840 or other relevant product testing standards.
- Knowledge or practical experience of ISO 9001 and/or ISO 14001.
- Experience supporting internal, customer, or external audits.
- Experience of non-conformance investigation, root-cause analysis, and corrective actions.
- Environmental compliance knowledge.
- Spanish language skills (opcional)

The role involves regular practical work within the factory, including the handling and preparation of products and test equipment and participation in physical product testing.
Salary and Benefits
- Salary: £28,000.00 – £30,000 per year (DOE)
