Ontic Quality Technician Opportunity
Ontic is growing its Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) operation, and we’re looking for a Quality Technician to join our Quality team at our brand-new facility in Tewkesbury, Gloucestershire.
Working within our MRO environment, you’ll provide hands-on quality support across day-to-day maintenance operations, helping ensure our products, processes and activities meet customer, regulatory and internal quality requirements. From inspections and compliance monitoring to investigations, quality systems and continuous improvement, you’ll gain exposure to a broad range of aerospace Quality activities.
This is a great opportunity to develop your career in aerospace Quality without being limited to one specialist area. Working alongside Operations, Engineering and experienced Quality professionals, you’ll build practical knowledge of AS9100, Part-145 and the quality processes that underpin a safe, compliant and effective MRO operation.
Ontic is more than just a business; we’re a community where talent thrives, ideas flourish and careers are built. As our Tewkesbury operation grows, you’ll have the opportunity to grow with it, developing your knowledge and experience within an evolving aerospace environment.
The Role:
As our Quality Technician, you’ll play an important role connecting Quality across the business, helping to resolve quality issues and ensure our products, processes and maintenance activities meet the required standards.
This is a varied, hands-on role where you’ll support operational quality enquiries, inspections, material conformity, non-conformances and investigations, as well as quality documentation, audits and continuous improvement activities.
Working within a smaller Quality team at our brand-new Tewkesbury facility, you’ll gain broad exposure to aerospace Quality and have the opportunity to develop your knowledge of AS9100, Part-145 and MRO operations alongside experienced colleagues.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

About you:
At Ontic, our culture is integral to making sure we enjoy our work and deliver for our customers. While we look for the right skillset, we're also looking for someone who will thrive within our recognition and empowerment culture.
You’ll be naturally inquisitive, enjoy getting into the detail of a problem and be comfortable working with different people to find a solution.

- A Level 3 technical qualification, apprenticeship or equivalent relevant practical experience in engineering, manufacturing, aerospace or a related technical environment, alongside GCSEs or equivalent in Maths and English at Grade 4/C or above.
- Experience within a technical, manufacturing, maintenance, Quality or other process-controlled environment, ideally within aerospace, aviation, MRO or another highly regulated industry.
- We’re open to transferable backgrounds – you could already be working in Quality, or come from a Quality Inspector, Receiving Inspector, Release Inspector, Maintenance Technician or IMS/Quality Systems role and be looking to broaden your experience within operational Quality.
- A good understanding of quality assurance principles, with strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain accurate documentation and records.
- An inquisitive, problem-solving mindset with clear communication skills and the confidence to work collaboratively across Quality, Operations and other teams.
- Previous exposure to AS9100, Part-145, non-conformance management, audits, Lean Six Sigma or ERP/MRP systems would be advantageous, but you don't need experience in all of these areas.
