Responsibilities
- Promote a proactive safety culture by identifying hazards and ensuring all opportunities raised are driven to conclusion
- Participate in site safety processes and leading indicators such as pre-task risk assessments to ensure safe working practices
- Carry out part inspections in accordance with inspection standards and control plans when required
- Carry out part inspections and tooling sign off using measuring equipment such as thickness gauges, scales, linear gauges as applicable
- Complete inspection records accurately and maintain quality documentation.
- Identify and segregate non-conforming products in line with company procedures.
- Support production by responding to quality-related issues on the shop floor.
- Perform routine product and process checks to verify compliance with specifications.
- Assist with containment activities following customer or internal quality concerns.
- Support with investigations into quality issues by collecting information and inspection data.
- Support with activities related to Measurement Systems Analysis (MSA)
- Participate in internal audits and layered process audits as required
- Responsible for the calibration/validation and disposition of measurement equipment
- Ensure measuring equipment is handled correctly and report any calibration issues.
- Follow Control Plans, work instructions and standard operating procedures
- Assist in maintaining housekeeping standards within the quality department
- Contribute to continuous improvement activities by identifying opportunities to improve quality and reduce waste

Qualifications / Experience
- Experience in a manufacturing or automotive environment (Required)
- GCSEs (or equivalent) including Maths and English
- Basic understanding of IATF 16949 or ISO 9001 quality systems (Required)
- Ability to use standard measuring equipment (Required)
- Ability to read basic engineering drawings (Required)
- Good attention to detail (Required)
- Good communication and organisational skills (Required)
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Required)
- Basic knowledge of automotive quality documentation, including Control Plans (Desired)
- Internal audit experience (Desired)
- Basic understanding of APQP, PPAP, FMEA or MSA (Desired)
