Quality Technician - Product Quality Controller (PQC)

Salary:

£31,849.98 rising to £33,149.98 upon successful completion of role objectives (plus 20% shift allowance for afternoon shift)

Contract:

Full time & permanent

Hours:

Full-time, multi-shift contract - We support coverage across the full factory roster, so flexibility is key!

Shift Pattern:

  • 3 x Days: Monday to Thursday, 06:00 - 15:00; Friday, 06:00 - 09:30
  • 1 x Afternoons: Monday to Wednesday, 16:30 - 02:30; Thursday, 16:30 - 02:00

The Opportunity:

As Quality Technician - Product Quality Controller (PQC) within the Quality department you will support as we seek to maintain and improve the quality of machines leaving the Desford facility. You conduct audits/inspections on parts and partially or fully built machines.

What you will do:

As a Quality Technician, you are accountable for, but not limited to:

  • Conduct audits on parts and partially or fully built machines following inspection best practice/methodologies.
  • Record defect information in detail via electronic, manual processes or visual boards.
  • Investigate, analyse and identify Root Cause, and operate the NCM (Non-Confirming Material) process.
  • Conduct Basic visual and dimensional inspection as part of investigations.
  • Rework parts and machines as required.
  • Must be willing to work a multi-shift pattern.

What You Can Demonstrate:

  • Quality Operations: Communicates across departments and teams, to ensure a smooth workflow. Proactively reviews reject areas to ensure targets are achieved.
  • Quality Knowledge: Read and interpret engineering drawings and quality standards. Able to inspect parts or machines to determine conformity.
  • Safety: Proactive in managing safety standards and ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations. Foster psychological safety and team engagement, ensuring open communication and collaboration across diverse groups.
  • Process Improvement: Evaluates production methods and maintains focus, with team input, on promoting the continuous improvement of processes and products utilising lean, Six Sigma and drive innovation.
  • Prioritisation: Self-motivated and able to proactively manage multiple priorities.

What You May Have:

  • MRP Systems (Glovia): Proven ability to use MRP systems, such as Glovia, to plan material availability and support on-time production delivery.
  • Engineering Drawings: Advanced ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications to ensure components and processes meet design requirements.
  • Dimensional Inspection: Skilled in using dimensional inspection and measurement tools to verify product conformance and maintain quality standards.
