About The Function
Global Supply plays a critical role in producing and delivering Diageo's iconic brands while ensuring the highest standards of quality, safety, customer service and continuous improvement across our operations.
About The Team
Runcorn Packaging is one of G&E RTD Supply's eight sites, employing 2,000 people across the UK, Ireland and Italy. The Quality team supports the small pack production operation from beer intake through to finished goods loading, partnering closely with Production, Engineering and Compliance teams.
About The Role
As a Quality Technician, you will provide quality control analysis within production teams to deliver production in line with agreed KPI targets for customer service, quality, safety, hygiene, cost and flexibility. The role focuses on carrying out QC analysis, maintaining related equipment, auditing, monitoring and assessing adherence to quality standards.
Role Responsibilities
- Provide quality control analysis within production teams to support delivery against agreed KPI targets.
- Carry out routine calibration of instrumentation and random cleaning and maintenance as required.
- Ensure accurate results of complex analysis are entered into SAP and Harford on a timely basis.
- Maintain stocks of laboratory chemicals, disposables and consumables.
- Support the set-up and implementation of new methods.
- Conduct routine Process Control audits to confirm compliance with QC plans.
- Make information and records available to support problem solving and actively participate in improvement activities.
- Respond appropriately to out-of-specification results for components and packaged beer.
- Recognise faults and fault trends and contribute to identifying solutions.
- Complete quality audits.
- Work closely with Team Managers, Production Co-ordinators, Shift Operators, Shift Engineering Teams and Compliance Support Teams.

Experience / Skills Required
We'd love to work with you if you have:
- An appropriate science qualification to a minimum HNC standard.
- Strong analytical techniques.
- Understanding of information systems, ideally SAP.
- Basic understanding of laboratory and on-line inspection instrumentation.
- Knowledge of Quality Systems, HACCP, Food Safety and ISO9001.
- Knowledge of statistical process control.
- A thorough approach and high attention to detail.
Preferred
- Auditing skills to carry out process control and due diligence audits.
- NVQ Level 2 Food and Drink qualification.
Experience
- 2 years' experience working in a QA role within an FMCG environment.
- Experience of working in a challenging quality and customer-focused environment.
- Experience of high-pressure situations where decision making may be required with little supervision.
