Quality Technician
Location: Cardiff, Wales
Salary: £30000 - £32000 per annum + Dependant on experience
Job Type: Permanent
Shift: Days 08.00 - 16.00 (37.5 per week)
Pension: Auto Enrolment
Are you an experienced Quality Technician who has worked on a food processing facility, looking for your next permanent position? Is Cardiff docks an area you can easily commute to work? Duties:
- Create and maintain graphs for material testing, inform Quality Manager on the observed trends.
- Raise concession, deviation, non-conformance report or quarantine product when product is out of specification, find out what is the root cause and propose solution to prevent re-occurrence.
- Guide production staff including agency workers on product quality, SOP/process changes. Assist on production check board and lead quality section.
- Investigate customer complaints, identify root cause, propose corrective actions and solutions to Quality Manager.
- Report status of Quarantine Area and suggest actions that should be taken to reduce number of pallets.
- Liaise with Engineering if faults are spotted; i.e. broken Perspex panel, additive Doser fault, incorrect bag fill.
- Maintain and create internal specifications.
- Provide support to Quality Manager during site audits.
- Generate monthly report summarising all activities and KPIs from your key area flagging concerns and giving suggestions for the improvement.
- Authority to stop the line in the event of spotting that product does not meet quality or packaging standards.
Skills Required:
- Experienced as Quality Technician testing products in production manufacturing environment.
- Attention to details.
- Promotes safe working, ability to risk assess activities to consider the safety to themselves and those around them.
- Computer literate, able to use Microsoft Office.
