About The Role

We are seeking an experienced Quant Developer to join our dynamic team at Ncounter Limited. In this role, you will work closely with our quantitative researchers to design, develop, and maintain the software infrastructure that supports research, analytics, and live trading operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Python development and a passion for building scalable, high-performance systems that enable rapid innovation and deployment of trading strategies.

This position involves taking ownership of the full software lifecycle—from initial design and development to deployment, monitoring, and ongoing enhancements. You will be part of a highly technical environment where engineering quality, performance, and collaboration are prioritized alongside innovative thinking. Your contributions will directly impact the efficiency and effectiveness of our research and trading activities, making this a highly rewarding opportunity for a technically skilled professional.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of four years of professional Python development experience within a financial or technical environment.
  • A degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, Quantitative Finance, or a related discipline.
  • Proven track record of designing robust and scalable software solutions, with a solid understanding of data processing, storage, and analysis techniques.
  • Familiarity with modern software engineering practices such as version control (Git) and Agile methodologies.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with highly technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with quantitative researchers to develop software supporting research and trading activities.
  • Create scalable Python applications and workflows that facilitate data analysis and decision-making.
  • Design high-performance solutions for processing and analyzing large datasets efficiently.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to develop reusable software components and frameworks.
  • Take ownership of projects from initial concept through deployment, monitoring, and ongoing improvement.
  • Support business-critical systems within a modern, high-performance engineering environment.
