The quality of every P&L and risk number starts with the curves behind it.

This is an opportunity to join the Pricing & Risk Technology team of a global commodities trading business, helping build the platforms that transform market data into forward curves, valuations, P&L and risk across oil, power and gas.

Working alongside traders, middle office, quants and engineers, you'll own the methodology behind curve construction and P&L attribution, translating business requirements into production-ready solutions. The role covers everything from forward curves and valuation logic to intraday pricing and risk capabilities.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

You'll work with Python, AWS, distributed computing and AI-assisted development tooling, contributing to the design and delivery of reliable production systems while challenging requirements and improving how the platform evolves.

Ideally, you'll bring experience building production software together with a strong understanding of commodities pricing, forward curves and the valuation lifecycle. Exposure to P&L, pricing or risk platforms within oil, power or gas markets would be particularly valuable, along with the ability to work confidently across both technical and business teams.
