Quantitative Developer | London
Python / C++ / Rust
Turn cutting-edge research into code that trades billions.
This isn't a "build the backend for a trading desk" role.
You'll sit embedded directly with quantitative researchers: the engineering partner who takes a mathematical idea from whiteboard to production, at a firm where technology is the research process, not a support function for it.
What you could be working on
- Research platforms used daily by some of the best quant researchers in the industry
- Back-testing and simulation frameworks processing enormous, complex datasets
- Portfolio optimisation and real-time research tooling
- Productionising mathematical models - from prototype to live trading
- Distributed computing and large-scale compute infrastructure
- Performance engineering at a level most engineers never get to touch

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
Start with a chat, not a search bar
Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

- Curiosity that extends outside your own discipline - you read papers outside "your" field and ask "could this apply here?"
- A strong academic background from a top-tier Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or Physics programme.
- 5+ years experience
