Role Summary
This role sits within the Agricultural Trading department, supporting the development of quantitative trading strategies and analytical capabilities across the Agricultural business.
The Agricultural Trading department combines deep discretionary market expertise with modern quantitative research, technology and data science to provide liquidity, manage risk and identify trading opportunities across global agricultural markets. The desk has direct access to the major agricultural futures and options exchanges and is investing in the continued expansion of its systematic trading capabilities through the application of statistical modelling, alternative datasets, automation and advanced analytics.

Responsibilities
- Lead quantitative research initiatives that combine market, fundamental and alternative datasets to generate differentiated trading insights and systematic investment strategies.
- Develop, validate and enhance systematic trading strategies using market, fundamental and alternative datasets.
- Research and integrate alternative data sources, including satellite imagery and geospatial datasets, into trading strategies where appropriate.
- Build scalable research tools, dashboards and analytical infrastructure to improve trading performance and research productivity.
- Partner with discretionary traders to enhance existing strategies through advanced statistical analysis and quantitative modelling.
- Work closely with Research to develop quantitative insights and market analytics that enhances the Agricultural product offering.
- Ensuring compliance with the company’s regulatory requirements under the FCA.
- Adhere to the operational risk framework for your role ensuring that all regulatory or company determined parameters are complied with.
- Role model for demonstrating highest level standards of integrity and conduct and reflecting Company Values.
- At all times complying with the FCA’s Code of Conduct.
- Carrying out regulatory activities under the Marex Financial trading books.
- Liaising with clients in US, UK and EEA clients include banks, hedge funds, market makers, fund managers, institutionals, trading houses and other trading boutiques.
- To ensure that you are fully aware of and adhere to internal policies that relate to you, your role or any other activities for which you have any level of responsibility.
- To report any breaches of policy to Compliance and/ or your supervisor as required.
- To escalate risk events immediately.
- To provide input to risk management processes, as required.

Skills and Experience
- 1–3 years' experience in quantitative research, quantitative trading or systematic strategy development.
- Strong Python programming skills and experience building research pipelines.
- Solid understanding of statistics, probability, time series analysis and machine learning techniques relevant to financial markets.
- Experience designing rigorous back testing and model validation frameworks.
- Experience working with large structured and unstructured datasets.
- Exposure to alternative datasets, including satellite imagery, weather or geospatial data, would be advantageous.
- Knowledge of futures, options and commodity markets is desirable.
- Experience developing dashboards and analytical tools using modern data visualisation technologies.
- Strong SQL skills and familiarity with version control and collaborative software development practices.
