Role Overview
Our school leaver programme will provide you with first-hand experience while working towards a professional qualification. You’ll join us on a 5-year trainee programme, working towards completing a Bachelor’s degree in Real Estate Management and Quantity Surveying / General Practice Chartered Surveyor status with the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (RICS). Anyone without a degree can join this programme, as we’re focused on training you to becoming a qualified and well-rounded professional. You will complete a fully funded online bachelor’s degree (BSc) in Real Estate Management and Quantity Surveying with the University of the Built Environment as part of the apprentice programme. You will be fully supported by both JLL and the University throughout your academic journey.
Quantity Surveyors provide expert advice on construction costs, which is why they are also known as Cost Consultants or Cost Managers. Our team ensures that proposed projects are affordable and offer good value for money, so essentially they hold the purse strings of the project.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
Start with a chat, not a search bar
Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
