Quantity Surveyor / Senior Quantity Surveyor
Location: Watford 2 days a week
Site Visits / Home: 2–3 days per week
Salary & Package: Up to £110k + Travel + Bonus + Benefits
Reporting to: Commercial Director | Projects: £200k–£6m
The Role
We are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a specialist structural alterations contractor delivering high-profile projects across London.
Working closely with the Commercial Manager and site teams, you will be responsible for cost control, variations, procurement and contract administration throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and price variations using first principles and contract rates.
- Complete measurements, site reports, daywork sheets and supporting substantiation.
- Prepare cost reports, forecasts and project financial updates.
- Manage subcontractor procurement, scopes, tender comparisons and negotiations.
- Support client and subcontractor contract administration, valuations and final accounts.
- Identify commercial risks and opportunities and maintain strong cost control.

About You
- HNC, HND or BSc in Quantity Surveying or related discipline.
- Previous QS experience within the construction industry.
- Strong understanding of measurement, variations, procurement and cost management.
- Excellent communication, negotiation and organisational skills.
- Able to work under pressure and meet demanding deadlines.
- Specialist subcontractor experience is desirable, although candidates from main contractor or developer backgrounds with a genuine interest in specialist contracting are encouraged to apply.
